LONG TIME NO CHAT


Thank you to those who reached out to me and asked me to start the Blog back up. As most of you know, time has been consumed by the many projects and challenges needing attention along the way.

An old mentor of mine, Stephen Mitchell, taught me that a Blog is NOT an article, term paper, story . . it should be "Stream of consciousness". So, here we go . .

Mortgage Note Investing, it is NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS! I know this from the many conversations I've had with CCG Investors, other Investors, even Syndicators and life-long Real Estate Professionals.

What it is . . 1) 8% Annual Return 2) Secured by First Lien Position on Quality Assets 3) Steady monthly checks 4) Reliable Borrowers 5) Low Risk with Average Default Rate of 2%

2008 and Dodd-Frank changed everything, folks.

If you're young and/or a new Investor you might turn your nose up at 8%. Those of us experienced enough know what a great return that is for something relatively low risk and consistent.
